Quantcast
In the Limelight

After immersing myself in panels yesterday, today I wanted to spend more time on the con floor. It’s an intimidating prospect with so much going on, so I focused on hanging out in Artist’s Alley.

I talked to a bunch of artists, including my friend and terrific artist Todd Nauck, while wondering around. The Artist’s Alley has many, many talented people set up. They are offering an array of goodies, including new prints, art books, original pages, and comics. Every artist was busy talking to fans while signing books. Some had lists of sketch commissions to do in between interacting with people.

It was nice to see that so many artists had long lines of fans looking to get sketches and signatures. Many people talk about how Comic-Con has become so media-movie-TV focused, but spending time in Artist’s Alley, hearing people telling artists and writers how their work inspires them, proves that it’s still about the comics.
