In the Limelight

Last weekend at Monster-Mania Con Scoop stopped by Scream Queen Linnea Quigley’s booth. The horror actress, who starred in The Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons, Graduation Day, and Creepozoids, among many others, talked about some of her favorite films, upcoming projects, and the convention.

Scoop: What is your favorite horror movie you’ve been in?
Linnea Quigley (LQ): Return of the Living Dead is probably the favorite horror film I’ve ever been in.

Scoop: Why is that?
LQ: Because you can watch Return of the Living Dead again and again because there’s always something new to see. Whereas a lot of them, you’ve seen it and that’s all that’s going on, whereas in Return there’s mayhem going on everywhere.

Scoop: What’s the craziest thing you’ve done for a movie?
LQ: Ooooh boy. I think mainly sitting in prosthetics for, like, twelve to thirteen hours for Night of the Demons and for about six or seven for Return of the Living Dead and probably putting a lipstick through my breast [in Night of the Demons].

Scoop: Oh yeah, that was so gross.
LQ: Yeah, that was pretty weird to do and different. Very different.

Scoop: So, what are you working on now?
LQ: I just finished The Barn, which will be out really, really soon. It’s an homage to the ’80s movies. I didn’t know it, but after I did the part, the director – who’s been winning awards for Best Director Independent Film, Best Film Independent – he said that he had wrote the part for me, when he was writing the movie, not thinking that I’d ever do the movie. I’m so glad I knew that after I had done it, because I would have been like, “I’ve got to do it like he expects.” That’s the next thing that will be out soon.

Scoop: How has the convention been for you this weekend?
LQ:
Oh, it’s been great, I’m running out of pictures. It’s been terrific and I’m meeting people I’ve known before and meeting new ones. It’s terrific.

Scoop: Do you have more conventions coming up in 2016?
LQ:
Oh yeah. I go to Days of the Dead in Louisville, Kentucky, I go to one in Buffalo, and I go to another one, Horror Hound, it’s the first three weeks in September. And then I have to film something where...it’ll be fun.
