Chris Cooper has joined the cast of Amazing Spider-Man 2 and will play the role of Norman Osborn, Variety has reported.

Cooper joins returning cast members Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) and fellow new additions Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones and Dane DeHaan.

Director Marc Webb and producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach also return for the feature, which is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
