Edgar Rice Burroughs Incorporated announced the release of Edgar Rice Burroughs The Bibliography by longtime Burroughs scholar, Dr. Robert B. Zeuschner. The illustrated hardbound book started shipping on Thursday, August 18, 2016.

Burroughs, dubbed the Master of Adventure, is well known for his imaginative stories of Tarzan and John Carter of Mars. But there’s plenty more in the writer’s repertoire from a career that spread out over 40 years. He created adventures in the Earth’s core to the ends of space with incredible creatures and brave protagonists.

“We are absolutely thrilled to publish this very special book, which has been almost twenty years in the making,” Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. President Jim Sullos said. “We opened our archives to Dr. Zeuschner and he has produced the definitive account of everything published by Edgar Rice Burroughs. This is a one of a kind illustrated bibliography that should be a must for anyone interested in ERB, the history of pulp fiction and the works that inspired Superman and every other pulp hero since.”

The Bibliography includes more than 2,000 annotated, illustrated descriptions of Burroughs’ publications from 1911 to the present. There are 500 color images with first and reprint edition books and dustjackets, paperbacks and 97 story-related pulp covers.

The book is available in two editions. The standard edition is bound in midnight blue Cailux Italian book cloth with the spine and front cover decorations stamped in gilt. It is limited to 900 copies. The deluxe edition is bound in genuine red leather with a hub spine and cover decorations stamped in gilt. It is limited to 375 signed and numbered copies.
