The Pokémon Go mobile game will be seeing its first major expansion since the game’s summer 2016 release, with the second generation of Pokémon creatures being added in. Announced on February 15, 2017, developer Niantic released a trailer for the update and discussed what new features will be added.

Besides the additional Pokémon, Pokémon Go will see what is being called “new encounter gameplay,” in which wild Pokémon will now start to behave in different ways. New items, such as new Berries, will also be added in. And players will be able to customize their avatar character with additional wardrobe options as well.

Pokémon Go was one of the most used and most profitable mobile games of 2016 and was praised for its ability to promote physical activity by driving Pokémon fans to explore the real world to catch Pokémon.
