Dynamite Entertainment has just announced an exclusive partnership with Electric Entertainment. Together the two companies will be developing an all-new series of comics and graphic novels, based on the hit television series The Librarians.

The Librarians, which is based on TNT’s hit movie franchise, centers around an ancient organization hidden under the Metropolitan Public Library. The organization is dedicated to protecting the world from the magical reality hidden all around. Rebecca Romijn (X-Men), Christian Kane (Leverage), Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead), and John Harlan Kim (Neighbors) star in the series as the latest protectors, with Emmy winner John Larroquette (Night Court) as their caretaker. Noah Wyle, who reprised his role of Flynn Carsen, one of the longest-surviving librarians in the mythology, has recurred throughout the series and serves as an executive producer.

The series premiered on TNT back in 2014 with chart topping success. It went on to finish the year as the #2 new series on basic cable. Since then, the show’s popularity has prompted TNT to order an additional 12 episodes for the fourth season.

“I was hooked on this exciting series from the first TNT movie. Noah Wyle's character recalls everything I loved about Indiana Jones, and the cast of the series is phenomenal. The cast dynamics and premise are perfect for comic books, and I am thrilled that Dynamite Entertainment will have the opportunity to expand on this rich world in a series certain to reward longtime fans and newcomers alike!” Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci said.

“We couldn't be happier to partner with the artists and storytellers at Dynamite Entertainment on this series of comic books for The Librarians. This is a perfect way for our fans to follow their favorite characters as they explore new and exciting stories,” added Electric Entertainment CEO Dean Devlin.

Further news on this series, such as the release date and creative team, will be announced in the coming months. The fourth season of TNT’s The Librarians is slated for release later this year.
