Writer Jay Faerber (Copperhead) and artist Sumeyye Kesgin are teaming up for an all-new teen-friendly series, Elsewhere. The fantasy series, arriving from Image Comics this August, unlocks the mystery behind Amelia Earhart’s fabled disappearance.

After being transported to a world full of flying beasts and alien civilizations, Amelia desperately struggles to return home. Throughout her journey, she forges alliances and makes enemies as she transitions from aviatrix to freedom fighter. All the while a merciless warlord is on a rampage.

Elsewhere is the kind of series I've wanted to tackle for a long time, with exotic characters, fantastic creatures, and huge scope. But I needed a relatable character to hang everything on. I found that character in Amelia Earhart—she's inspiring, courageous, and most of all, real. And I've found the perfect partner to help me navigate this thrilling adventure: artist Sumeyye Kesgin. She's incredible, and absolutely vital to bringing this world to life,” said Faerber.

“It’s an incredible experience working with Jay Faerber! He’s one of the best writers I've ever known, and I was really fascinated when he first showed me the outline of the story. I am having fun while creating the entire Elsewhere universe because of my love for fantasy and aerial concepts, and I feel really honored, as a female artist, to draw Amelia Earhart,” added Kesgin.

Elsewhere #1 cover A by Kesgin (Diamond Code: JUN170635) and cover B by Andrew Robinson (Diamond Code: JUN170636) will be available in comic stores on August 2, 2017. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is July 10.
