IDW Publishing recently announced plans for a line of Star Wars Adventures aimed at younger readers. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, IDW will be releasing an all-ages adaptation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens this summer.

The massive 80-page graphic novel is led by writer Alessandro Ferrari, along with art by various Disney artists. In order to appeal to younger audiences, this group is hoping to bridge the gap between Star Wars and classic Disney animation. Previously, this group adapted original and prequel trilogies into comics for Disney Lucasfilm Press.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is debuting ahead of Star Wars Adventures, a monthly series following the early life of The Force Awakens’ Rey – releasing in September. IDW additionally publishes a collection of Star Wars newspaper strips and other related material.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released this August, in advance of the December movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
