Injustice 2 has continued the DC Comics fighting mayhem thanks to developer NeatherRealm Studios, but the latest fighter to be entering the brawl has certainly caught the attention of comic books fans worldwide. Hellboy will be joining the fray as part of Fighter Pack 2, which releases on September 12, 2017.

A creation of Mike Mignola, Hellboy first debuted in 1993 and has been regularly published by Dark Horse comics ever since. A pair of Guillermo Del Toro films in 2004 and 2008 helped to popularize the character and expose him to a wider audience, and a reboot is currently in the works for the films as well. Hellboy’s addition to Injustice 2 marks an interesting comic crossover with what has otherwise been a DC-focused fighter (with the occasional Mortal Kombat cameo).

Other fighters included in Fighter Pack 2 are Raiden (from Mortal Kombat) and Aquaman villain Black Manta. Three more fighters will be added with a third Fighter Pack, and with comic characters outside of the DC Universe now in the realm of possibility, fans are already speculating who might be included.
