Stranger Things is promoting the upcoming season with some creative new images. In addition to the frightening ad that shows a giant beast hovering in the clouds, now the Netflix show has released a series of posters that recreate iconic movie poster images from the ’70s and ’80s. Of course, the movies that were chosen for emulation ‒ primarily sci-fi and horror ‒ have also served as inspiration for the show, created by the Duffer Brothers.
They include Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) with kinetic charged hair as Drew Barrymore in Firestarter, the adorable boys give a 21st century version of Stand by Me, Joyce (Winona Ryder) on the poster for The Evil Dead, Hopper (David Harbour) intimidates in a take on The Running Man, Nancy (Natalie Dyer) taking on a character of the same name for A Nightmare on Elm Street, the Demogorgon as Jaws, and an egg-like structure from the upside down as Alien.
Season two of Stranger Things will be available on Netflix on Friday, October 27, 2017.
