Roleplaying fans will soon be able to revisit Neverwinter Nights thanks to an “Enhanced Edition” to be released by Beamdog (a studio primarily made up of ex-Bioware developers).

The original Neverwinter Nights released in 2002 on PC, and was developed by Bioware; it is heavily based on classic Dungeons and Dragons mythology, being set in the Forgotten Realms campaign and using game mechanics based on Third Edition rules.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is not a high-definition remake, and instead simply updates some of the user interface and menu scaling, as well as adding some graphical effects. The game will retail for just $20 and will also include the expansions Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, Pirates of the Sword Coast, Infinite Dungeons, Wyvern Crown of Cormyr, plus two soundtracks. There is currently no definitive release date for the game.
