Netflix and DreamWorks announced six all-new original cartoons coming to the streaming service in 2018. This included Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, Harvey Street Kids, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, Trollhunters (Part 3) and 3 Below, and She-Ra

First introduced in The Secret of the Sword, Princess Adora was later revealed to be He-Man’s secret twin sister. After becoming an integral part of the He-Man world and granted the Sword of Protection, Princess Adora is transformed into She-Ra. She is considered a positive role model for women and is alternatively known as the Princess of Power and The Most Powerful Woman in the Universe.

Leading the Princess of Power on her new adventures is Eisner Award-winning creator Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, Nimona). Stevenson has garnered a huge fan base for both Lumberjanes and Nimona, with both projects currently being adapted for the big screen. In addition to comics, Stevenson has worked on television shows like Bravest Warriors, Tangled: The Series, Lego Star Wars: Freemakers, and the recently rebooted Ducktales. According to a tweet shared by Stevenson, the She-Ra show has been in the works for some time.

DreamWorks Animation also expressed their excitement on the new project saying, “The trailblazing property originally debuted in 1985 to satisfy overwhelming demand for a female lead fantasy series. With Stevenson’s unique voice at the helm, fans are in store for an epic and timely tale that celebrates female friendship and empowerment, lead by a warrior princess tailor made for today.”

She-Ra will ride into Netflix on in 2018.
