The Nintendo Labo project arrived on the Switch console on April 20, 2018, and noted Science Guy, Bill Nye, has partnered with the game company to release a video highlighting the software’s capabilities. Nye explains how the project’s “Toy-Cons” can be used for scientific exploits by exploring physics and computer programming.
In the video, Nye assembles the Toy-Con RC Car, the Toy-Con Fishing Rod, and also explores the programming capabilities of the Toy-Con Garage. The programming involves simple cause and effect inputs that can be used for a wide variety of things.
There are two Labo products now available, the “Variety Kit” and the “Robot Kit.” The former includes parts to make a piano, motorcycle simulator, fishing rod and others things, while the latter focuses on one massive device that is strapped to the player’s back and enables them to pilot a massive robot.
