Nintendo has released a new English trailer for the upcoming Nintendo Switch titles, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!. The two-minute look provides a ton of new information as far as how the game will play like in terms of battling, trading, and even a look at the story.
Some of the aspects shown off include how the player will bond with their partner Pokémon, with an in-game feature similar to the “Pokemon-amie” minigame in previous iterations. The ability to customize the player character’s clothing – as well as dress up either Eevee or Pikachu – was also highlighted. While the player’s partner will always be seen on screen with them, riding on either their head or shoulder, the player will also be able to ride select larger Pokémon on the map, such as Onix or Arcanine. Updated character designs for long-running series characters, including Brock, Misty, and Professor Oak, were also highlighted.
Though not specifically pointed out, several classic tunes from the game’s soundtrack can be heard over the course of the trailer with updated arrangements. These two games are considered to be remakes of Pokémon Yellow, which was an “enhanced” version of Pokémon Red and Blue that first released in 1998.
Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will debut worldwide for the Switch on November 16, 2018.
