Following the studio closure of Telltale Games that led to the mid-season cancellation of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, it has been announced that Skybound Games will complete the story. Skybound was founded by Robert Kirkman, the writer of the Walking Dead comic.

The announcement was made via Twitter, with Skybound saying “We’re so happy to announce that we’ve reached a deal with [Telltale] that will allow Skybound to continue The Walking Dead: The Final Season! Let’s wrap up Clem’s story right!”

The company has said that they will be working with people from the original Walking Dead game team in order to finish the story “in a way the fans deserve.”

The second episode of The Final Season released on September 25, 2018. There is no planned release date for further entries as of this article’s publication.
