Enjoy the Ride Records has announced plans to release the soundtracks to two classic and influential fighting games – Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II – on vinyl for the very first time. These soundtracks have previously only been available on CD and are releasing together on November 21, 2018 in four different versions, including a “Picture Disc” edition limited to just 1,000 copies.

The music was originally composed by Dan Forden, who cameos in the game as the “Toasty” guy. Forden continued composing and working for the Mortal Kombat series, with his most recent work being for Mortal Kombat X on audio direction. He has also composed for related titles, such as Injustice: Gods Among Us and its sequel Injustice 2; Forden also contributed sound work to a number of pinball machines for both Williams and Bally/Midway.

The soundtrack can be purchased in Scorpion Yellow, Reptile Green, Sub Zero Blue, or the Picture Disc (which depicts the classic Mortal Kombat logo). In addition to the tracks from the games, this release also includes a bonus track of the “Techno Syndrome” theme from the campy film series.

This vinyl release can be purchased at the Enjoy the Ride website.
