Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore will star in an Apple TV+ miniseries adaptation of Lisey’s Story, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name.

King himself will write and executive produce the eight-episode drama, which marks a rare occasion when the horror icon has scripted one of his books for the screen. Moore will additionally serve as executive producer, along with J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson of Bad Robot Productions.

The story sees Lisey, the widow to a popular novelist, revisit portions of her husband’s past that are filled with mysteries. Since it’s King, there are naturally some scary spots in that history.

This is the newest in a recent wave of King adaptations, which began with the extremely successful It in 2017. Other new entries into King’s film and TV adaptations have included the movie Pet Semetary, the Hulu series Castle Rock, and the Netflix miniseries Gerald’s Game.
