SyFy has announced that it will be developing a new series featuring DC Comics character Lobo, in a partnership with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. The bounty hunter, originally created as a satirical spoof of the extremely violent characters Marvel touted at the time, made an appearance during the second season of SyFy’s Krypton.

Krypton executive producer Cameron Welsh will serve as executive producer and a writer of the new series. Emmett J. Scanlan, who plays the character on the SyFy series already, is expected to star in the spinoff series.

Lobo first appeared as an antagonistic character when he was introduced in 1983, but has since gone on to become more of an antihero. DC has given him his own starring book multiple times since his introduction.

No date is set for the Lobo-focused show to enter production as of yet.
