One of the boldest decisions the new Valiant made was to introduce new, original characters even as they revised the more familiar ones from the original Valiant, and the first Divinity miniseries was probably the highmark of that effort to date.

So many superhero comics dabble in science fiction, but this one immerses itself not only in far-out concepts, but politics, metaphysics, and more.

It’s superbly executed and is – at least with this first issue – a fitting follow-up to the original.
