As the third arc of this critically-acclaimed series draws to a close in issue #15, things are perhaps as complicated as they ever have been for everyone involved. Robert and Rachel come to a head on their relationship as Robert finally admits that he can’t handle Rachel’s salacious past; meanwhile, Myrtle’s activities come to light after she finally gets her hands on Jon’s files. And then things get somehow slightly more serious once a couple of certain other characters show up at Jon’s place.

Sex Criminals has so far managed to balance out the dirty humor with the actual legitimate relationship drama in a way that doesn’t feel tired, and this latest issue definitely turned up the drama in a big way. It’s exciting to see these characters all finally coming together – which leads me to believe that what will happen next will be huge. It’s not a great starting point for the series (people should definitely start at #1) but what it sets up definitely makes this one a standout.
