Greg continues to follow his pet frog into a mess of trouble in the Unknown, this time involving one Robber Raccoon and a squirrel whose only goal is to find where exactly her acorns end up. As it turns out, the tree’s hole leads directly into an underground society of moles, who use the acorns for everything from buildings to transportation.
Meanwhile, the second story continues, following the Woodsman’s Daughter as she documents her own experience alone in the cabin while she waits for her father to return.
Over the Garden Wall manages to blend the quirky and upbeat with the mysterious and borderline-terrifying in this issue, and while those all happen in two rather distinct storylines, it still makes for a good issue. Fans of the Cartoon Network series will find more to love here than the newcomer, though this comic marks a great starting point for the franchise.
