Archie Comics; $3.99

Archie Andrews, the human cyclone, is prone to making mistakes. So when he floods the home ec classroom with popcorn, and the teacher, Mr. Collier, reams him out. Tech-savvy Veronica films the incident, and the video ends up being copied to her father’s political campaign – of which Collier is his opponent – and then used on a commercial. Which sets off Betty, since Collier is her uncle. And of course, Archie, Betty and Veronica all end up in the middle of the storm once it kicks off.

This may be one of the best Archie issues yet. It maintains a contemporary feeling with the viral video at the center of the plot, but at its core it’s classic Archie; the true love triangle between Archie, Betty and Veronica seems to finally be getting its legs in this issue, and the fallout from this story should have some serious ramifications.
