Mole Man has his eyes set on one thing – the heart of Squirrel Girl – and now it’s a national media event. The world is abuzz and wondering when (not if) she’ll finally cave and go on a date with him. Nancy does her best to convince him to let it go, but he doesn’t take it so kindly. It takes one of his own kind for him to finally realize how wrong he’s been about the whole situation, and everything sort of gets resolved in the end.

This quick story arc with Mole Man was stellar, casting the gross “nice guy” culture in as harsh a light as possible. It’s unfortunately relevant and topical to today’s dating realm, as women often face the same sort of harassment that Doreen dealt with in the past two issues. But fortunately, the creative team made it as funny as possible to read. Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is one of Marvel’s funniest titles right now, and these past couple issues proved it.
