After a short foray into politics, Faith is facing Zoe Hines, a former teen idol turned villain named Dark Star. Well, to be more specific, Zoe has been infected by a nasty spirit that is feeding off of all of Zoe’s anger, frustration, and insecurity she’s dealt with in the public spotlight. But when Dark Star drains some of Faith’s powers, she turns to an unlikely ally – Project Rising Spirit.
The typically funny title is a bit more serious in Faith #6. Jody Houser wrote a good story about the disconnect between famous people and the negativity they face in the industry and from couch critics and keyboard commenters. She did manage to squeeze in a few amusing pop culture references to Pokémon and superhero TV shows.
Though I’m not typically a fan of thick line work, artist Meghan Hetrick keeps everything smooth and fairly well defined with vivid color choices.
