Dynamite; $3.99

The classic Atari video game Centipede had players controlling a lone spaceship that fires upon the titular creature in an attempt to destroy it. The simple concept has now been turned into a comic book from Dynamite Entertainment, which follows the lone man Dale Trell on his personal quest to destroy the giant centipede that has taken over Earth.

Of the old school Atari titles, I’m not sure that Centipede would’ve been the one I would have picked to create a narrative out of, but the folks at Dynamite make it work. This first issue introduces readers to the world that the centipede itself has been unleashed upon and the singular human who is left to stand against it. If the other issues can follow with a similar quality, Dynamite’s going to have a seriously interesting book on their hands.
