Archie Comics; $3.99

We learned in the previous issue that the person most affected by the ill-advised drag race between Archie and Reggie was actually Betty Cooper, who landed in the hospital after a crash. In Archie #22, as Betty lays in the hospital bed, her closest friends and family recall moments where Betty made a difference in their lives. And though Betty seems to have survived the accident, it seems that she might not be 100% back to her usual self.

The “Over the Edge” arc has brought some of the most intense drama to the Archie books since perhaps the “Death of Archie” storyline from a couple of years ago. Mark Waid’s writing remains some of the best in the business and these last few issues have certainly proved that. Fingers crossed for a happy ending, though recent Archie entries have shown that anything can happen.
