As if! It’s time to go back to Bronson Alcott High School to hang out with Cher, Dionne, and Tai of Clueless. This new comic story begins at the end of their junior year when Ms. Geist challenges the kids to figure out who they want to be after high school. Cher takes the question very seriously and starts contemplating all the different versions of herself that there could be.
While Cher is dealing with her identity crisis, Di gets fed up with Murray’s juvenile antics and lack of listening skills. When he decides to run for class president, Di chooses to run against him to find her own purpose.
In the next part of the story, Tai finds out that a beloved family member has passed away and bequeathed her the family farm. This comes at the exact same time that she has been granted a scholarship to art school. Tai must decide between following her dream or being loyal to her family.
Clueless Senior Year was written by Amber Benson and Sarah Kuhn, illustrated by Siobhan Keenan with colors by Shan Murphy. Benson and Kuhn definitely know these characters and the original film, which shined throughout the graphic novel. They smoothly established the storylines from the movie, gave voice to each character as they appeared on film, and moved their stories forward in realistic ways. It was a fun read for any fan of the quintessential ’90s teen comedy.
