A new adventure begins in Star Trek Boldly Go #11. It starts 10 years ago with the U.S.S. Heisenberg and the talented Captain Garth evading destruction. Then it moves forward to when Captain Kirk was attending Starfleet Academy and Garth was sent out on a mission that ended with his demise during transportation.
Flash forward to the present where Kirk and the Endeavour are hailed by a young girl named Thalia who is looking for her mother on the same planet where Garth died. Things quickly get strange when Kirk and Thalia head to the planet’s surface to search for her mom.
Star Trek Boldly Go continues to be an entertaining, engaging title. Written by Mike Johnson, this issue begins with some backstory and what seems like a bland story before something very strange happens. It’s another interesting opener for the Star Trek series.
The art by Megan Levens with colors by Marissa Louise is realistic, but also a bit animated. It has a Saturday morning cartoon feel with a lovely range in color and imaginative creature and structure design.
