The people of Angel Grove are still recovering from Rita’s first devastating attack on the city. As many gather to help in the cleanup effort on Angel Day, Rita sent another giant monster to attack them and find the Power Rangers. Trini, Zack, and Billy morphed and were holding the monster back, but not able to stop it. Kim and Jason were finally able to join the battle when the monster started drawing energy from the city’s electrical grid.

Go Go Power Rangers differs from the regular Power Rangers series because it focuses more on the characters as their teenager selves rather than being superheroes. But this issue by Ryan Parrott combined the action with the drama. We see the Rangers, who are still relatively new in this version, fighting the bad guys and dealing with their own insecurities and frustrations, not to mention trying to morph without being seen.

Artist Dan Mora and colorist Raúl Angulo did a great job on this action-heavy issue. They hit the exciting notes of battle, providing clarity amid the fighting and swirling dust. They also handled the emotional side very well, expressing the characters’ feelings as they dealt with the scary situation.
