The battle with Alpha X has ended, but Wynonna and her crew aren’t resting just yet. First, she needs to find out what the key on her necklace unlocks. Smitty sends Wynonna and the tracker Heiwa on the mission to find that last puzzle piece. Where does it take them? A bus station, of course.

Naturally, things don’t go as planned and they are ambushed by a formidable woman called Dead Mary, who works for the Consortium. She has her own proposition for Wynonna, along with some seriously surprising news. As the Black Badge group wait for their return, Valdez and Doc bond over their post-battle bloodlust. We also briefly meet the people who will likely be the next thorn in Wynonna’s side.

Beau Smith and Tim Rozon managed to wrap up the story while also sowing seeds for the next event for our favorite heir. This issue was filled with pop culture references and jabs, which aren’t typically in this title, so that was quite interesting. It worked, though, giving the story its usual comical punch.

Angel Hernandez and Jay Fotos continued doing a great job on the art and colors, respectively. There are some cool panel designs, plenty of action, some comedy, and very good representations of the actors from the accompanying TV show.

This storyline’s over, but hopefully Smith and Co. are cooking up some new adventures for Black Badge.
