After losing his powers, Nick Wilson has been reduced to appearing at children’s birthday parties and getting high on his couch in his underwear. But the former hero is making the most of it, going so far as to catch up with an old flame from high school to try and keep his spirits up. But washed up as he may be, the paparazzi still have their lenses turned on Nick, which in turn gets the attention of a former acquaintance of his who seems to have a job for him.

The Further Adventures of Nick Wilson gets going with this wildly funny first issue. Nick’s characterization is of particular note – he’s dealing with the “human” side of “superhuman” and is having to come to terms with the fact that he’s not what he once was. It should be interesting to see where this series goes from here.
