Go Go Power Rangers #8 opens with a flashback 10,000 years ago to when Rita confronts Goldar for spying on her for Lord Zedd and she suggests that he choose to whom he will be loyal. Then the story jumps forward to the present where the Matt-putty has revealed itself and the Power Rangers are trying to stop it and keep everyone safe. After Rita joins the fight, they switch to Megazord mode, though this ends up making things more challenging.

Outside of Ranger gear, Jason and Trini have an awkward conversation about her feelings, Skull comforts his buddy Bulk after the Homecoming debacle, Billy makes a decision about Promethea, and Kim and Zack visit Matt since he’s returned from imprisonment.

This issue features a bit more Ranger fighting than most in the series, though it doesn’t shy away from their personal lives. It’s fairly balanced between action and story with the Matt-putty taking on some creepy guises and most of them confronting difficult situations in their personal lives.

This issue by Ryan Parrott also serves as a prelude to Shattered Grid. Does this mean that the flashback scene and ones from previous issues will tie in to the upcoming event? What about Matt, will he factor in to Shattered Grid? Hopefully answers will come soon.
