Archie Comics; $3.99
It’s the night of the big spring dance, and Archie is totally, absolutely, not at all nervous. Moose, however, has had better nights – his date bails on him before they even have a chance to order appetizers, but thankfully a cute waitress swoops in to save his night. But the drama’s just getting started, between Archie’s backing band unable to make the gig, the Blossoms’ family drama spilling into the public spotlight, and Reggie being… well, Reggie.
Archie has been anchored by its clever and contemporary writing, which – thanks to the combo of Mark Waid and Ian Flynn – continues to shine through. Something big is about to happen in Riverdale, and it’s unlikely anything good is going to come of it. Regardless of how long you’ve read Archie comic books, this series is absolutely a must-read for anyone who just enjoys a good bit of teen drama.
