Aptly described by Titan Comics as “Spring Breakers meets Pulp Fiction on the banks of the Thames,” Rivers of London: Water Weed is the latest miniseries in Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London franchise. Picking up after the event of The Hanging Tree and Cry Fox, Water Weed opens with a seedy drug deal on the river. Unfortunately for the unsuspecting criminals, the misbehaving River goddesses Chelsea and Olympia are eager to cause trouble for them.

Scared out of their minds, the dealers agree to appease them by paying a tithe with some of their product. Sadly, Chelsea and Olympia’s joy is short-lived as Beverly immediately confiscates the product for herself. Although she initially enjoyed the cannabis with her friends, Beverly and newly promoted cop/wizard trainee Peter quickly discover there is something wrong with the weed. The pair find themselves pulled into a sordid cannabis-smuggling operation controlled by Londons new queenpin of crime, Hoodette. But can they balance disobedient goddesses while tracking this beautiful and brutal drug dealer?

Drug-smuggling meets wizarding cops in this latest issue written by Aaronovitch and Andrew Cartmel. Coupled with the psychedelic and stunning art by Lee Sullivan, makes this a can’t miss issue!
