Valentine’s Day is coming up, and Esther and Daisy are both in peril about it – as both of them are single – and Susan’s not exactly the most romantic person on earth, either. Daisy has to confront her fear of confrontation in her role as a resident advisor, especially when the loud girl on her floor causing problems for the other students has a strikingly similar personality to a certain ex-girlfriend of hers. Esther, meanwhile, gets caught up in a whirlwind romance with a tech billionaire, and is forced to reconcile her personal belief system with her feelings for this bearded beau.
Giant Days continues to be wildly witty and funny, and is one of the most well-rounded books out there right now. It manages to balance relatable drama with true comedic moments and has an impressively expressive art style that pushes things to another level without being quite so over-the-top about it. The third hardcover collection (Not on the Test) is also out this week, so if you haven’t been following this series, that’s a great place to start.
