Ed and Nina have enjoyed quite a lot of time together, especially after their adventure in the great down under. But despite their meet-cute presentation to their other couple-friends, it’s starting to be clear that they’re not quite as compatible as they first thought. Nina’s drinking habit resurfaces, causing some of her more wild (and destructive) tendencies to come out. After she nukes her relationship with Ed, Nina ends up finding an unlikely ally.

Giant Days remains one of my favorite ongoing series, and this issue really encapsulates all of the reasons as to why. Susan is on the verge of a complete quarter-life crisis, Nina’s bad habits are getting the absolute worst of her, and Ed is getting… well, the absolute worst of Nina. In a series that has enjoyed such an ensemble cast for so long, it manages to balance all of their stories really well. I always look forward to reading Giant Days, but this particular arc with Ed and Nina has me clamoring for the next issue.
