The Serenity crew have been escorting the Pilgrims of Moriah to their holy site on the desert moon of Bethlehem when the Unificators show up. The Alliance is hunting Mal and Zoë, who are wanted for war crimes.

After they were ambushed by bandits and with the Unificators on their trail, Mal and Zoë decide to split up from the group, hoping to keep them safe. Once they get back into town, they interrupt more conflict with the bandits and are assaulted by the Unificators. Absconding with Boss Moon of the Unificators, Mal and Zoë exchange harsh words with their enemy and decide what to do to keep themselves and their friends safe.

This issue by Greg Pak flew by with plenty of action and a bit of humor. The series continues providing some context to what happened during the war and how it has affected our heroes. Pak has done a good job of capturing the characters’ personalities and the all-hell-breaks-loose style of the show.
