A lot happens in Rainbow Brite #4. The issue opens with a nice summary of the story so far and some more details on Rainbow Land and the color prisms. Once their bumpy introduction is over, Wisp and Red Flare decide to team-up to save the other Color Guards. Once they find where the next Guard is held, Wisp gets to meet another character from Rainbow Land and try out some new powers.

Rainbow Brite is a very fun all-ages book. It’s cute, entertaining, and heroic with just enough complicated story to keep adults interested but not too much that it’ll confuse younger readers. Of course, color is the key in this book, which colorist Valentina Pinto provides brilliantly. Every shade is the kind of vibrant, cartoon eye candy that kids love with bold swatches of color down to the subtle glow on Red Flare’s outfit.
