A frenzied demon was unleashed at Anya’s magic shop and is on a mission to destroy all vampires. Witnessing its melee, Buffy starts following the demon, but she isn’t the only one looking for it – Spike and Dru are also on the hunt.
For the first time since the series began, most of the characters are gathered in the same place, which adds some nice interplay to the story. This issue is also mostly action, following an even first issue and more emotion-based second, making for some nice variety. The series continues to give nods toward the show with Giles singing, and some fresh ideas, like Cordy crushing on Spike.
Writer Jordie Bellaire, artist Dan Mora, and colorist Raúl Angulo are continuing the nice momentum of the new series and hopefully the proverbial third act will deliver on the growing story.
