Another entertaining installment of Rainbow Brite awaits young readers and those who were kids in the ’80s. Wisp and Red are trying to enter the cave to save the other Color Guard when he is captured. Wisp tries to evade capture herself from the “trashcan spider” and lizard creatures, but things don’t exactly go as planned.

Writer Jeremy Whitley introduces a bunch of new characters in this issue, adding to the adventure of Wisp’s quest. This issue features a fight, some more exposition, and a nice background story for Twink. The art team of Xenia Pamfil on pencils, Christine Hipp on inks, and Valentina Pinto on colors brought the story to life with energy and bold colors that mesh well and contrast nicely.

It’s been a fun book and trip down memory lane with a consistently enjoyable story and solid pacing.
