In the first issue, Xena came to the rescue of a small village that is being threatened by the god, Discord, only to learn that the town elders had made a deal with the god. Xena steps in to negotiate with Discord before she takes the town’s children as payment and Discord agrees – if Xena will stop an advancing Roman battalion that is desecrating her temples.

Oh, and Discord wants Xena to take the village elders on the mission. Xena and Gabrielle with some old folks vs. a Roman battalion…should be easy enough.

This was a good second issue by Vita Ayala. The story is straightforward, but interesting, and Xena must use her cunning as well as her might to solve the problem. It’s a shorter story than expected, but nonetheless enjoyable, with more to come.
