Steven and the Crystal Gems recently saved Beach City in an epic, hard-won battle against a corrupted gem. Unfortunately, the battle also saw most of the town destroyed in the midst of all the action. Now, the Crystal Gems must work alongside the residents of Beach City to repair all the damage.
With so much cleaning and repairs to be done, Steven is already overwhelmed. Nothing a little dirt fight can’t fix…if only the responsible lady Pearl wasn’t on the case. As the cleaning resumes and more residents come out to help, several start planning a sunset beach party as a ‘thank you’ to everyone who participates in the cleanup. Despite the dancing, fun and marshmallow eating, Pearl can’t keep her mind off of the work left to be done. Continuing to blame herself for the current state of Beach City, Pearl blows up on everyone and decides to handle everything herself. But will a sleep-deprived, over-worked Pearl be any help to anyone?
Sarah Gailey (Magic for Liars) pens an enjoyable and powerful lesson on forgiving yourself and knowing when to ask for help. Coupled with the colorful and wonderfully cartoonish art by Rii Abrego (Rick & Morty) makes this a can’t miss issue for fans.
