The first image from The CW’s Green Arrow pilot, presently titled simply Arrow, has been released and it features Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, better known as the show’s title character.

“The suit was designed by three-time Oscar-winning costume designer and frequent Tim Burton collaborator Colleen Atwood (Alice In Wonderland). The project, written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg, is based on the DC character and centers on former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Amell) who, after being marooned for five years on a remote island, returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime,” wrote Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva.

Smallville pilot director David Nutter has taken on similar duties with Arrow, which is interesting considering that this is not going to be the take on Green Arrow fans of Smallville got to know during that series’ 10-year run.
