Pretty Little Liars alum Lucy Hale has been tapped for the titular role in The CW’s Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene. The musical dramedy, set long after Riverdale’s current timeline, was given a pilot order back in January. If the pilot is picked up for series, the show could debut as earlier as fall 2019.

Katy Keene follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters – including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene (Hale) and singer-songwriter Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) – as they chase their 20-something dreams in New York City,” reads the show’s description.

Keene is describes as an “aspiring fashion designer. But when she’s not working as a personal shopper at a luxury department store, she’s navigating friendship and dating in the big city.” This will be Hale’s latest project with The CW after starring in the short-lived show Life Sentence.

Katy Keene is written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi, who will also executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater.
