Captain Action Enterprises has announced the fifth annual Fan Contest at Comic-Con: International. This contest promotes creativity and collectability by inviting fans to submit fan artwork of Captain Action, including photos of any of the Captain Action figures from the character’s 50-year history.

This year, in honor of the new Captain Action efforts the theme will be creativity. Building upon the custom figure contests from past years, this year’s contest will be expanded to include fan artwork in traditional (and non-traditional) comic styles. The two categories will be illustration artwork featuring Captain Action and related characters; and action figure photos featuring Captain Action and related characters.

An all-star panel of judges will review the artwork and photo entries and select the winners at a panel moderated by Captain Action’s Ed Catto during Comic-Con. The panel’s exact time and location will be announced shortly. Winners will be judged upon creativity, craftsmanship, originality, and professionalism.

Judges for custom contest include Scott Dunbier (IDW), J.C. Vaughn (Gemstone Publishing Vice-President of Publishing), Michael Polis (Atomic Toybox Entertainment, Wildbrain and Yo Gabba Gabba), Harold Sipe and Meg Stivison (Small Monsters Games), and Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett (Action Figure Insider).

“I continue to be in awe of the strong fan enthusiasm for this exciting brand,” said Polis.

During Comic-Con, fans can also visit the Atomic Toybox booth #3921 on the showroom floor to preorder the exciting new Captain Action figures.
