Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder and the rest of the gang are swimming ashore for The Little Mermaid Live!. ABC originally announced the project in 2017, before it was temporarily suspended. Now, not only has the project been revived, the network has announced the air date and cast.

Produced by The Wonderful World of Disney and ABC, The Little Mermaid Live! will star Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Ariel, Queen Latifah as Ursula, and reggae musician Shaggy as Sebastian.

The show will feature live musical performances spliced within a broadcast of the original film. Described as “a never-before-seen hybrid format” the show will “feature beautifully intricate sets and costumes, with music from the original.”

This is the latest The Little Mermaid project from Disney, with the company currently working on a live-action remake with Halle Bailey as the titular star. 

The Little Mermaid Live! will air on ABC on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at 8 PM.
