Fresh off their $2.078 million November sale, Hake’s Auctions is already busy gathering consignments and building the roster of offerings for their March 2020 premier event. There were 400 lots of Star Wars material in the November sale, which included the Boba Fett rocket-firing prototype sale of $185,850 that set a new world record. Continuing that momentum, Hake’s is planning to include a fresh slate of Star Wars items in March.

Among the early Star Wars consignments are three more important pieces from the Minnesota new discoveries of early production material. This includes a Darth Vader double-telescoping 12-back AFA 75 with white footer. This figure differs from the other Vader figures because it comes with a longer lightsaber that has a second extendable piece. Making this piece even rarer, it has a white footer, denoting that it was from early in the production process.

A Jawa 12-back AFA 60 with vinyl cape and a Death Squad Commander 12-back AFA 60 that have no punch on the cards will also be in the March auction. They are among the earliest carded examples that never reached the final stage of production where the hang tab would have been perforated for store display. The Jawa is additionally special as a rare early version that comes with a vinyl cape piece which was later replaced by a cloth fabric tunic.

These follow the first round of sales from the Minnesota discoveries, which included a Sand People 12-back with no punch in the card, a Han Solo 12-back with white footer, and a Ben Kenobi double-telescoping 12-back with white footer – the latter of which rose to $64,900.
