TNT has released a brief teaser for the dystopian thriller Snowpiercer, announcing the long-in development series will debut on May 31, 2020. The TV adaptation will return fans to the desolate world of director Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 film, which in turn is based on the French comic The Escape by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette.

“Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the acclaimed movie and graphic novel series of the same name,” reads the official synopsis for Snowpiercer

The series stars Jennifer Connelly (Labyrinth), Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha) with Susan Park (Always be my Maybe), Benjamin Haigh (The Conjuring), Sasha Frolova (Red Sparrow), Katie McGuinness (Roots), Sam Otto (The State), Alison Wright (The Americans), Annalise Basso (Love Takes Wing), Sheila Vand (Argo), Roberto Urbina (Narcos), Lena Hall (Becks) and Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World).

Snowpiercer will premiere on TNT on May 31, 2020.
