Actress Kellye Nakahara, known for her role on M*A*S*H, died on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at her home in Pasadena, CA. She was 72 years old.

Nakahara played Nurse Kellye Yamato on the sitcom about the staff an at Army hospital during the Korean War. She was a recurring star throughout most of the show’s run, appearing in 167 episodes from 1973 to ’83.

Nakahara was born on January 16, 1948 in Oahu, Hawaii. She moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in art then went to Los Angeles to be an actress. M*A*S*H was her first onscreen role, which turned into a 10-year job.

She starred in Clue as the no nonsense cook, was in She’s Having a Baby, and Doctor Dolittle. Her TV spots included Little House on the Prairie, Growing Pains, Dream On, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and her final role was voicing in The Wild Thornberrys.
