The second season of Netflix’s The Witcher has reportedly cast Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju in the role of Nivellen. According to the report by Redanian Intelligence, Hivju is listed as “Nigel” for the sophomore season with the character description suggesting he is in fact Nivellen.

The fantasy series is based on the stories of Andrzej Sapkowski, with the first season adapting short stories from The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny. Nivellen is a prominent character from Sapkowski’s Beauty and the Beast-inspired short, “A Grain of Truth.” In this story, Geralt of Rivia discovers a seemingly abandoned manor that holds a monstrous, cursed nobleman.

Hivju was introduced as Tormund Giantsbane in the third season of HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones, before playing a more prominent role toward the end of the series. Additional credits for Hivju include the films The Last King and The Fate of the Furious, as well as the Swedish crime series Beck.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season one is currently streaming on Netflix.
